Equality and diversity
At East Kent Housing we believe that everyone
has the right to be treated fairly, with respect and to feel safe
and secure in their own home and neighbourhood. We have made a
commitment to creating a culture of fairness and equal opportunity
for our all our staff and service users and we will not tolerate
discrimination.
We will make sure that no person or group
amongst our service users or employees will be treated less
favourably than any other person or group because of their
individual characteristics. These characteristics include, but are
not limited to, disability, ethnicity, colour, race, religion,
gender, sexual orientation and age.
Reasonable adjustments
We pay due regard to the need to make
reasonable adjustments to our working practices to accommodate
needs of individuals or groups protected under the public sector
equality duty and identified in our equality and diversity
policy.
Public sector equality
duty
The public sector equality duty is made up of
a general equality duty set out in the Equality Act 2010, supported
by specific duties set out separately in the regulations. We are
required to publish our compliance with this duty as well as our
plans for setting equality objectives over the next four years.

our commitment to providing excellent services to all our
customers, regardless of their individual circumstances or
background.
