East Kent Housing is the first ‘Super ALMO’ in the country, managing over 17,000 properties on behalf of four local authorities. We’re an ambitious organisation and our mission is to deliver ‘a fresh approach for a better housing service in East Kent’. We want to strengthen our asset management function through the appointment to this post. You may be expected to work in another of the Council areas, than your base as and when required.

Main Duties:

Monitor external contractors and consultants to ensure that East Kent Housing fulfils its contractual obligations to its client councils by delivering responsive works and planned and cyclical maintenance programmes to quality, time and budget

Survey properties and related assets to identify repair work that is required to ensure the assets are able to fulfil their function without detriment to residents and users

Essential Requirements:

  • A working knowledge of building maintenance and contracting relationships
  • A good working knowledge of building defects and how to identify the best repair options
  • Sound understanding of compliance with statutory landlord obligations and associated legislation
  • Able to oversee work contractors work to achieve good quality work to time and budget limits
  • Experience of managing the performance of contractors to achieve high quality works
  • Working with the public, to deliver customer focussed maintenance programmes
  • Worked within a team of technical and non-technical staff
  • Building / Surveying qualification TEC or equivalent or a commitment to achieve this level of qualification. EKH is committed to funding the cost of this training
  • Full Driving Licence and use of own car
