Letting council homes
To ensure that waiting times for people to move into council
homes are kept to a minimum, and that we do not lose income from
properties sitting empty, we measure and record how quickly we
re-let homes once they become available.
What do the figures mean?
The main issues for re-letting homes have been in Canterbury and
Shepway. For Canterbury, the figures have been affected by a
large number of tenants transferring to housing association
properties. In Shepway, more support is being given to staff
who are new to the process and the reasons for each overdue
property are being reviewed.
