Area Boards
Reflecting tenant involvement in your
local area
Local Area Boards do not replace any tenant and leaseholder
groups which already meet in your area.
They work alongside and within each area's existing involvement
structure, with extra powers and responsibilities that make it

- The local councillors sitting on the Area Boards will not have
voting rights. Voting power stays with the tenants and
leaseholders.
- New Area Board members will be appointed in the same way
that local tenant representatives are currently appointed.
- The Area Boards will be supported by our Tenant Participation
teams, who already co-ordinate activities and consultations in your
area.
