Meet Nigel Lawes

Nigel Lawes is our Tenant Member for Shepway on our East Kent Housing Board. The Board, which includes local tenants, councillors and independent members, helps us to make sure we are delivering the best and most effective housing services to you.  We spoke to Nigel to find out some more about him:

Have you been involved with East Kent Housing before?
Yes I’ve been a tenant inspector in my local area and I’ve also been on one of the Tenant Scrutiny Panels last year which looked at the improvements needed to blocks where tenants and leaseholders live.

Why did you want to be part of the Board for East Kent Housing?
I think the work of the board will be interesting as it will look to make sure that the services tenants receive are the best they can be.

What do you hope East Kent Housing will offer tenants and leaseholders?
By the councils working together like this, local tenants and leaseholders will get better value for the money from their housing service.

What do you do for fun?
I like to read and go walking.

Where is your favourite place in East Kent?
I really like the cliffs overlooking Dover harbour.
