How to pay your rent
There are five easy ways for you to pay your rent, simply choose your local area below:
Ways to pay your rent in Canterbury
- Pay your rent online on the Canterbury City Council website.
You will need your 16-digit tenancy reference number ready (on the bottom right of your plastic payment card).
- Pay over the phone by calling 01227 862 427*
This is an automated phone service for credit/debit card payments. You will need the 16-digit number across the middle of your plastic payment card.
- Set up a payment through online banking
- Pay by Direct Debit download the Direct Debit form with your details and return it to the address provided. If you have a question about setting up a Direct Debit call 01304 751 063 or email us.
- At the Post Office or PayPoint registered shop
View paypoint locations. If you lose or damage your payment card, please call us to request a new one on 01227 862 142 or email us
Your home is at risk if you do not keep up with your rent payments
If you don't pay your rent on time your account will go into arrears and we will take action to recover the arrears. If you find yourself in this position, always contact us. Your rent payment is due every Monday.

Ways to pay your rent in Dover
- Pay your rent online on your council's website
You will need your 14 digit rent reference number (on the bottom right of your plastic payment card).
- Pay over the phone by calling 01304 872 345*
This is an automated phone service for credit/debit card payments. You will need the 16-digit number across the middle of your plastic payment card.
- You can set up a Direct Debit by downloading the Direct Debit form and returning it by email or by post to East Kent Housing, White Cliffs Business Park, Dover, Kent CT16 3PJ
- At the Post Office or Payzone registered shop using cash or a credit/debit card using your payment card. Charges may apply. If you lose or damage your payment card, please call us to request a new one on 0300 061 9997.

Call 01304 751 072 to set up a monthly payment to pay your rent or for garages call 01304 751 062.
- Post Office/PayPoint payments - You can use your plastic payment card to make a payment in any Post Office or PayPoint outlet.

You will need your rent account number ready. (This is the 13-digit number located on the bottom right of your Rent payment card).

This is an automated phone service for credit/debit card payments. You will need the 16-digit number across the bottom right of your plastic payment card.
- At the Post Office or PayPoint registered local shop
View paypoint locations. If you lose or damage your payment card, please request a replacement by email with your name and address.
- Pay by Direct Debit by 01304 751068
You can set up a monthly payment for your rent or garage on either the 1st, 16th or 25th of the month or weekly on a Monday.
